What's a piece of HR conventional wisdom you've stopped believing?
Mine: 'exit interviews reveal the real reason people leave.' In my experience people are diplomatic right up until they're gone, and the real reason comes out from their manager, much later, if at all.

Small things that made our HR team run smoother this year
Nothing groundbreaking, just additions that stuck:
- A shared decision log so we stop re-debating settled policy questions every quarter
- One source of truth for pay bands instead of three slightly different spreadsheets
- A 15-minute weekly sync instead of relying on Slack threads for cross-team questions
